Meet Nicole Maslowski, designer and owner of Maslo jewelry and just an all-together inspiring woman! Her pieces are some of our favorites at V2V, and she can be seen in our Charleston store quite often! Read on to learn more about Nicole.
Would you say that your pieces reflect on you as a person? How so?
I think when you create something with your hands and from your heart, it's going to automatically be a reflection of who you are. My pieces are probably reflections of my own personality and sense of style in ways I don't even realize.
From where do you draw your inspiration?
Not one place, instead I kind of look anywhere and everywhere. If I feel drawn to something, or instantly like it, I know I should incorporate that feeling into my work. I want everyone to get that feeling when they wear my pieces.
What is your favorite piece in your current collection?
Turquoise Slide Bracelet
You use a lot of different materials from copper to turquoise to brass. What is your favorite material to work with and why?
Brass is my favorite, simply because I love the way it looks. I feel inspired using it, so it makes the work easy.
What is your favorite piece from your collection at V2V right now?
All of the turquoise stuff. So bright and summer-y!
Who is your all time favorite style icon?
I don't really have one, I kind of just do my own thing when it comes to style, and check out what I see my friends with good style are wearing. If I had to pick, I would say Jane Birkin. You're doing something right when Hermes names a bag after you.
Who are some of your favorite clothing designers to wear with your pieces?
I personally like clothes from all different price ranges, and I think my jewelry can stand on it's own, so I wouldn't say I have a favorite brand to wear with them. I tend to gravitate towards basic pieces and neutral colors.
What is your absolute favorite thing about summer? Two summer activities are tied for favorite: barbecues and the beach
What are you reading right now?
I don't have time at the moment to stop long enough to pick up a good book! But my favorite magazine, Living etc is on my coffee table right now.
